Cray Valley were re-formed in 1981 under the name Cray Valley (PM) FC. Our original home was the Paper Mills ground at Orpington, Kent. Since the closure of the Mills, Cray have had a somewhat nomadic existence playing at a number of venues before settling at their current home at Badgers Sports in Eltham, South East London.

Until joining the Kent County League Division One, the first team played in the London Intermediate League where they were founder members in 1998. Prior to this they played in the London Spartan League between 1989 and 1998. The reserves play in the Premier Division of the South London Alliance, which is where the first team started before achieving intermediate status. Whilst in the South London Alliance they were winners of Division One in 1983/84 and runners-up in the Spartan League in 1998. In 1999 Cray were runners-up in the London Intermediate Cup losing to Canning Town 1-0 and the following year they reached the final of the London Intermediate League cup final only to lose 2-1 to Bridon Ropes after extra time.

2007-08 is Cray's seventh season in the Kent County League, and our most successful season by far has been 2004-05, when we were league champions by 11 points, and reached 3 cup finals, winning the Kent Intermediate Challenge Shield. The last two years have seen us finish 7th on both occasions, as the squad has gradually been rebuilt.

Our reserves and 'A' teams had a difficult time of it in the South London Alliance last term, mainly due to a lack of quality personnel, but the 2nd team have been boosted by an influx of good standard players, and our U/16s from last years Kent Youth team have become our new 'A' side for 2007-08, which augers well for our future.

We will be running teams at U/15, U/16, and U/18 in the Kent Youth League this season, as our commitment to building on solid foundations continues.
