Well done and congratulations to Malachy Turner, Aidan Wicks and Riley Woods members of the England U23 six a side squad who have just competed in the World Minifootball Federation World Cup in Croatia.

All three were part of Cray Valley (PM) successful Isthmian U18 side last season. Mal and goalkeeper Aidan are both registered with the first team for this season with Mal also gaining valuable experience with Corinthian in the SCEFL Premier Division where he is dual registered. Riley last seasons Isthmian U18 captain is currently playing for Stansfeld Reserves.

The England U23 six a side team are managed by Jamie Leggett. After an opening game defeat against Slovakia they went on to beat Columbia 4-1 and Austria 5-0 to finish second in their group and qualification to the quarter finals. Unfortunately their journey ended with defeat against a very talented and well drilled Azerbaijan team in that quarter final.

All the squad can be proud of their efforts and I am sure they would have enjoyed the wonderful experience of representing their country abroad.
