Thank for you the last three years. Thank you for the support that you have shown to myself, Barry, Mark and Sam. Thank you for the good times we have enjoyed together.
Football has both ups and downs and I am glad that most of the time we have spent together has been a positive.
Our first year saw us reach the FA Cup first round and secure the historic draw away at Charlton Athletic. We continued that momentum with the Isthmian South East title win on the final day at Horndean.
Our second season saw us upset the odds and reach the Isthmian Premier Division play-offs against teams historically much bigger than ours, only to fall short of the final in the cruelest of circumstances.
This season has been tough. I've been open in my interviews about mistakes that were made along the way and I am sorry we haven't been able to replicate the success of the previous two years.
But I leave with my head held high, as the most successful manager in the club's history, a win percentage of 54% and only 26 defeats in 112 league matches.
I am proud of the work that myself, Barry, Mark and Sam have done throughout our time here and I thank every supporter, committee member, staff member and player than has played a part along the way.
I'd also like to say a special thank you for the song written in my name, often sang by the fans, which I will never forget.
I wish Cray Valley nothing but success in the future.
Thank you,
Steve
