After Tuesday’s chastening defeat against Sittingbourne, Valley have an immediate opportunity to revitalise their promotion ambitions with a visit to Homelands on Saturday.
Beaten Play Off finalists in the Spring, Tommy Warrilow’s “Nuts and Blots” can once again be found among the early season pacesetters, having accumulated 13 points from their opening six league matches – their only defeat thus far coming by a single goal at Faversham Town on Bank Holiday Monday.
Despite exits from three cup competitions in the last two weeks, Warrilow’s men earned an excellent 3-1 win at Littlehampton Town in their last league game, and have added to their firepower with the recent signings of striker Vance Bola from Carshalton Athletic, and attacking midfielder Mikey Dalton from Chatham Town. Former Thamesmead Town forward Jack Godfrey has also joined the club this week to bolster an already formidable looking squad.
Kevin Watson hopes to have Cem Tumkaya available for selection for the game, while midfield playmaker Anthony Edgar hopes to return to full training next week.
