BIG MATCH PREVIEW
FAVERSHAM TOWN v CRAY VALLEY (PM)
18th FEB 2023 – KICK OFF 3pm
PITCHING IN ISTHMIAN LEAGUE – SOUTH EAST DIVISION
Action from earlier this season when The Lilywhites visited The Artic Stadium
The Millers travel to Salters Lane, a ground on which they experienced much celebration back in 2019 visiting twice to play ground sharers at the time Canterbury City. Firstly to progress in the FA Vase Semi Final and then to clinch promotion from the SCEFL in the final league game of the season.
An equally big challenge faces them this time around as they take on Faversham Town who after a complete squad rebuild in recent months are fighting to climb out of the relegation places.
Manager Tommy Osborne and Assistant Paul Lorraine will try to stick with the game plan which previously served them well but without a win and four defeats in their last five games this will undoubtedly bring a new kind of pressure to deal with. Tuesday's 2-3 home defeat against Beckenham Town saw them slip out of the play off places. Tommy Osborne said after that game “We’very got to improve. At some point, you’ve got to start putting points on the board!"
Fine lines in football and everyone connected with The Millers will be hoping that today is the start of a return to winning ways.
The Lilywhites now under the stewardship of former Potter Bar manager Sammy Moore have started to turn the corner and whilst still sit in 20th place with 15 points from 27 games they have only lost one of the last five. Tuesday night saw them come back from 3-0 down in the second half at top of the table Ramsgate to gain a valuable point in a 3-3 draw.
