BIG MATCH PREVIEW
CRAY VALLEY (PM) v ASHFORD UNITED
11TH MARCH 2023 – KICK OFF 3pm
PITCHING IN ISTHMIAN LEAGUE – SOUTH EAST DIVISION

Picture taken 3pm 10th March - Pitch looking good and ready to go despite the recent rain.
It's sixth versus seventh, both on 50 points, separated on goal difference, just outside one of those much coveted play off spots as the Nuts and Bolts visit the Artic Stadium to take on The Millers. Both sides have got back on track in recent weeks, Ashford unbeaten in seven and Cray Valley in four after both suffered a blip in their results and dropped out of the play off places. It promises to be a tight, tense encounter. Hope to see you there.
Ashford manager Tommy Warrilow who has been at the helm since December 2018 has been busy adding to his squad over the past month. Midfielder Cameron Brodie joined on loan from Dartford although he had previously been at Margate this season where he played 28 times scoring 6 goals. However he is likely to miss the Cray Valley game having been sent off last week in their 2-0 win at Three Bridges. Two further recruits both signed from Bowers & Pitsea were forward Emmanual Oluwasemo where he made 24 appearances scoring 3 times and midfielder D’Jean Spencer who played 14 games scoring just the once. Other additions include midfielder Kie Douglas from Tooting & Mitcham United.
Top goalscorer for Ashford this season is Gary Lockyer on 16, co-incidently the same number as Cray's current top goalscorer Daniel Bennett. Cray's Adam Coombes is on 12 and Ade Adeyemo 10. In the game earlier in the season at Homefields the hosts ran out 1-0 winners with Dover
loanee George Nikja scoring in the 66th minute.
Tommy Osborne will be pleased with how his new signing Alex Bentley who previously represented Cray Wanderers has slotted into the team and will hope to continue their recent return to form with three wins and a draw in the last four games. Saturday will be a tough test for both sides.
