BIG MATCH PREVIEW
CHATHAM TOWN v CRAY VALLEY (PM)
15th APR 2023 – KICK OFF 3pm
PITCHING IN ISTHMIAN LEAGUE – SOUTH EAST DIVISION

The Bauvill Stadium hosting our U18 Isthmian league side earlier in the season.
Chatham Town nickname The Chats currently sit proudly at the top of the division, five points clear of second place Ramsgate, who they beat 2-0 at the Bauvill Stadium on Easter Monday in front of a crowd of 2,540. They have won all of their last five league games and remain unbeaten at home in the league winning 14 of the 18 to date. Victory over the Millers will see the Chats crowned champions and with it the prize of automatic promotion to the Isthmian Premier. A draw or even defeat may also be sufficient if Ramsgate fail to win at home to Whitehawk. Chatham's final league game is away at Littlehampton Town.
Manager and Club Chairman Kevin Hake is well placed to earn back to back promotions after finishing runners up last season in the SCEFL Premier Division. On the goalscoring front Jack Evans leads the way with 21 (league 13, cup 8), followed by Dan Bradshaw on 16 (league 10, cup 6) and Emmanuel Oloyede on 14 (league 14, cup 3).
In the game between the two sides earlier in the season at the beginning of December at the Artic Stadium, the Millers ran out 3-1 winners with two goals from Denzel Gayle and an Adam Coombes penalty. Manager Tommy Osborne and his team will be very much hoping to delay the Chats promotion celebrations as they seek the three points for their own promotion hopes via the play offs. The Millers currently sit in the last play off slot, 5th place, one point ahead of both Sheppey United and Hythe Town. The Millers complete their league programme against VCD Athletic and Sheppey United both at home. Their play off hopes remain in their own hands.
The game could mark a special achievement for attacking midfielder Hassan Ibrahiym who is set to make his 100th appearance for the Millers. He will join the exclusive 100 club featured in the club legends section, found elsewhere on this website.
