This is the third attempt at getting this fixture played having been postponed twice, due to the weather, on the 10th of both December and January. They say a couple of weeks in politics is a long time, well that is certainly also the case in football. Looking at my notes for the previous preview it talked about the Millers going into the game full of confidence on the back of an unbeaten run. Things have now changed having suffered back to back defeats, both by the only goal scored late on, first to Littlehampton Town away and then at home on Saturday against Chichester City. Things not helped in either game by being reduced to ten men following a dismissal.

Julien Anau will be available tonight having served his one match suspension following his second yellow at Littlehampton. Tom Chambers will also be available his three match suspension for a straight red starting this coming Saturday at Three Bridges.

The Oaks currently sit in 9th place having played 22 games just four points off a play off place. After being tipped by many to be among the front runners this season, Oaks made an indifferent start to the season - languishing in the relegation zone until mid-October despite enjoying a run to the 4th round qualifying of the FA Cup where they were defeated at National South Ebbsflett United. However their league fortunes have seen an upturn since and they have won their last five home league games on the 3G including impressive wins against sides near the top, Whitehawk 2-1, Beckenham Town 4-0 and Ashford United 2-1. Away from Greatness Park after three successive league wins including a 4-2 victory at Ramsgate they have since suffered defeats at East Grinstead, Chichester City, Chatham Town and Lancing. They did however earn a 1-1 draw on their travels on Saturday to Sittingbourne.

During the season manager Harry Hudson has been able to add Premier Division experience in former Corinthian-Casuals midfielder Ben Cheklit and Enfield Town defender Rian Bray, although leading scorer Ryan Gondoh, on nine at the time, departed to Lewes at the end of November. Freddie Parker is now top goalscorer on eight. The squad has been bolstered further during the past month or so with more signings including ex Miller defender Antone Douglas, who joined after a short stay at Faversham Town, experienced striker Daniel Carr and winger Kieron Cadogan who joined from Isthmian Premier side Kingstonian.

So an interesting game ensues with the Millers, currently 4th, trying to re-capture their winning form to maintain a place off position and the Oaks looking to continue their move upwards towards one of those play off slots.
