Ashford United nicknamed the Nuts & Bolts have moved up to 5th place in the table having lost just one of their last seven league games, winning five. This followed unexpected back to back heavy defeats against Phoenix Sports and East Grinstead at the end of September.

After having to play home games at The Bauvill Stadium Chatham, they will be pleased to be back at Homelands on the newly laid 3G surface. A vast upgrade on the previous surface I understand.

Manager Kevin Watson and one of his assistants Tommy Osborne will of course need no introduction to the Millers having served the club so well in the past. Another former Miller needing no introduction is Connor Dymond a mainstay of the Nuts and Bolts side this season.

It is though, of course, a new Millers regime now and Steve McKimm and his management team will be looking to maintain their unbeaten start in the league as they look to take full advantage of their games in hand following the cup escapades. It won’t be easy of course with Homelands always a difficult to place to get a result. It promises to be compelling viewing. Hope to see you there.
