Lancing nicknamed "The Lancers" are now in their third season at step 4 in the Isthmian South East Division having been promoted from the Southern Combination Premier at the end of the covid curtailed season 2020/21. They finished 18th in their first season and 13th last season.

They have made an excellent start to this season under new manager David Altendorff and currently sit in 5th place on 34 points from 18 games. They have won 8 out of the last 10 league games including the last four suffering just one defeat 1-2 at home to Sheppey United during that time. On Saturday they came from behind to beat league leaders Ramsgate 4-2. Last week they strengthen their squad bringing in ex Whitehawk and Hastings United striker Ben Pope along with Bognor Regis centre half Danny Howick with both making their Lancing debuts against Ramsgate.

Top goalscorers in all competitions this season are Lucas Franzen-Jones on 12 followed by Charlie Bennett on 7 and George Taggart on 6.

The Millers were of course without a game on Saturday following the postponement at Hythe Town and currently sit in second place on 37 points from 15 games. The current form guide showing the previous six matches features both clubs in the top three.
