Hashtag goalkeeper Jack Giddens produced the save of his life to secure three points for his side. The Tags were reduced to 10 men early in the second half but have Giddens to thank for their three points, after he tipped Fumnaya Somotun’s effort onto the crossbar with the final kick of the game. Hashtag took a one-goal lead into the break after Luke May-Parrott lobbed Shaun Peart-Rowley to give the visitors the advantage. That came after Daniel Ajikaiye hit the post for Cray Valley in an otherwise uneventful first period.

But Hashtag were lively from the start of the second half and took just a minute to double their lead after Jermaine Anderson found space on the edge of the box and was able to slot home past Peart-Rowley. The Tags had their backs to the wall for the rest of the second half as just minutes after their goal, Thomas Anderson was sent off for a handball on the line and Tom Beere reduced the deficit to just one goal.

From there, Cray Valley pushed but couldn’t find a breakthrough. Alex Kpakpe hit the post, Marvel Ekpiteta fired wide and Marcel Barrington’s strike went over the bar, before Giddens’ game-winning save with his fingertips with the final action of the match to secure three points for the visitors for the first time since the opening day.
