A tough one for the Millers to take as a battling display throughout ended in defeat following a late winner from Chats captain Reece Butler. A cross from the right after a corner had initially been cleared and then re-cycled was headed back across goal and into the back of the net by Butler despite the attentions of Crossley Lema at the far post. Valley then came close to equalising in added time for what most observers agreed would have been a deserved point when a Luke Holness shot from the edge of the box smacked against the crossbar and out.

The action was fast paced at times with the defences on top, both teams willing to throw bodies on the line to get the blocks in. Whilst the Chats enjoyed the majority of possession throughout the first and much of the second half there were chances at both ends but neither keeper were unduly troubled. The one goal in the 85th minute proving decisive. The Chats have now won ten in a row in all competitions and completed the double over Valley for the first time in this the fifth season the two sides have met in league action.
