A disappointing afternoon for the Millers as they were defeated by the only goal of the game, scored in the 7th minute by the Blues top goalscorer Gianluca Botti, his 16th league goal of the season. Receiving the ball out wide near the byline in the box he fired home first time from an acute angle across the keeper and into the far bottom corner.

The visitors were given a golden opportunity late on in the 87th minute to equalise when they were awarded a penalty after Blues captain Billy Cracknell had fouled Hassan Ibrahiym. On loan striker Makise Evans took on the responsibility but blasted over the top from the spot and their best chance of earning a vital point was missed.

The hosts defended well throughout but in the blustery conditions neither keeper was really troubled and the Millers despite enjoying the majority of possession weren’t able to create too many clear cut chances and it proved to be a frustrating afternoon as they failed to trouble the scoresheet.

With just seven games left the Millers remain firmly in the bottom four, with just one win and two draws in their last fourteen games. Two successive home games against Chichester City and St Albans City now follow and Manager Kevin Lisbie will be looking to his team to put much needed points on the table.
