PITCHING-IN ISTHMIAN LEAGUE PREMIER DIVISION
HASHTAG UNITED 1 CRAY VALLEY (PM) 1 - 11 APR 2026 - ATT 211
Goal: HU - Sayoud 56 (pen)
CV - Newby 89 - Sent off Waldren 95 (2nd yellow)

Alfie Newby's 89th minute equaliser firing home from close range earned a point on the road for Valley in this battle between two clubs currently in the bottom four. With Valley desperate for three points emotions were high and Valley skipper Danny Waldren was dismissed for a second yellow in the 95th minute, after protesting about the Tags keeper taking too long to get the ball back in play. Waldren had been booked earlier when a tussle in the area led to him conceding a penalty after the ball appeared to be held up in the wind to cause hesitation. Bilal Sayoud duly dispatched the spot kick in the 56th minute to give the hosts the lead.

In the opening half Prince Adegoke twice made excellent saves to thwart the Tags, the pick of which was an outstretched hand to push away the ball diving low to his right to deny Chaynie Burgin. Marcel Ekpiteta then made a timely block to thwart the follow up. Funmaya Shomotun and Chris Dickson were a constant threat for Valley the latter twice seeing efforts comfortably saved by Jack Giddens in the Tags goal but overall the visitors failed to create sufficient until Evans late equaliser.

The point keeps Valley's chances of avoiding the drop alive although they face an uphill task with just two games to play as they try and catch Carshalton Athletic, the team just outside the bottom four, who are two points and a superior goal difference better off. Next Saturday newly crowned league champions Folkestone Invicta are the visitors to the Artic Stadium followed by a trip to play off chasing Dartford on the final Saturday of the season.
