The Bears maul the Millers

The Millers were well beaten at the Mayne Arena, as the visitors took full advantage of the home sides indecisive defending to promote them to the top of the league. Man of the match Charlie Connell scored a brace and late goals from Mason Doughty and substitute Ikemwinoghena Yakubu secured a well-deserved victory.

Connell opened the scoring in the 18th minute when he took full advantage of a defensive error to score from close range. Ollie Whitby levelled the scores in the 29th minute when he was on hand to calmly slot the ball into an empty net, after Heath's keeper Alfie Hadfield 's attempted clearance rebounded to him.

After the break Hadfield pulled of a fantastic clear range save from Shaquille Gordon to prevent an equaliser and minutes later centre forward Doughty found himself unmarked to extend the Bears lead. Yakuba completed the scoring in the 84th minute.
