Match Report by Steve Chapman

Three late goals in seven minutes saw the Tye come from behind to secure an unlikely win at a windy Mayne Arena. The Millers dominated the match after going ahead but their failure to build on their first half lead allowed the visitors to leave South London with all 3 points.

The visitors edged the early stages but it was the hosts who opened the scoring on 21 minutes when Chris Dickson latched onto a cross from Mal Turner to calmly slot home his 299th career league goal. Valley then proceeded to create numerous chances forcing James Broadbent in the Tye goal to make a series of saves, both in the latter part of the first half and again after the break, the cross bar also coming to the rescue on one occasion. Some excellent play led to Dickson, Jack Kirby, Montel Agyemang, Abdul Sankoh and Denzel Gayle all with good chances to find the back of the net but were unable to do so.

Peacehaven captain Connor Tighe started the comeback with a free kick from just outside the D on 78 minutes which flew past keeper Harrison Chamberlain into the top right hand corner. Four minutes later substitute Lewis Beebee put them ahead from close in, picking up the loose ball following a free kick put into the mix. Tighe scored his second from the penalty spot before Marvel Ekpiteta scored a late consolation getting the final touch to a ball put into the box by Bailee Cain.
