The Millers make it three wins in three

The Millers made it nine points in the last eight days with this comprehensive win at Church Road.
A goaless first half saw the visitors having the bulk of the territorial advantage, with much of their threat coming via speedy wideman Denzel Gayle on the right, aided by the hard working Francis Babalola.
For the Leafe’s part, striker Ryan Gondoh ensured that Danny Smith and Ryan Flack were on top of their defensive duties as he probed for an opening down The Millers’ left.
It didn’t take long into the second half for Cray Valley (PM) to take the lead, as a 53rd minute Danny Smith free kick from ten yards inside the Leafe half found Cem Tumkaya at the far post whose firm header flew past Leafe keeper Tyler McCarthy.
With The Millers now looking increasingly confident, midfielder Emiliano Hysi curled a 20 yard shot agonisingly wide.
64 minutes had elapsed when the visitors gave themselves a bit of breathing space, as fine play by Hysi, Flack and Babalola saw the latter’s skewed shot find its way across the six yard line for Gavin Tomlin to convert.
Two minutes later, Gayle received a pass from Hysi fully twenty yards out and fired handsomely into the far top corner beyond the outstretched right hand of McCarthy to further extend the lead, before Tumkaya made it four in the 73rd minute, powering a near post header past McCarthy from a corner.
As debutant Ryan King-Elliot was thwarted following a close in back flick, there was still time for Gondoh to test Millers’ keeper Andy Walker – first with a well struck free kick that Walker did well to tip onto the bar, then with a close range effort that the keeper saved low down.
So another excellent team performance against fellow playoff challengers Whyteleafe, with Cem Tumkaya rounding off an allround solid defensive performance by bagging himself a brace.
