Valley return to action on Monday as they face their second game in three days.
Kevin Watson’s men travel to Leylands Park to face a mid-table Burgess Hill Town coming into the game on the back on a full week break after their New Year fixture at Chichester City was postponed on Thursday night.
After being founded in 1882, the Hillians spent much of their history in the Sussex County League before winning promotion to the Southern League in 2003/4.
A non-league restructure saw them move into the Isthmian League the following season before achieving promotion to the Premier Division in 2014/15 – winning the South Division by 11 points.
Since relegation in 2018/19, the Club have yet to complete a season in the South East Division due to the pandemic.
After a poor start to the season, the month of December was indicative of the Hillians’ season to date – defeat at home to Corinthian being followed by wins over highflying Ashford United and Hythe Town before a 2-5 defeat at basement side Phoenix Sports.
Recent additions to the squad are former Lancing youngster Conrad Honore, and Tom Chalaye – the striker returning to the Club from Worthing after a spell on loan last season.
Coming off the back of a second successive home defeat on Saturday – and a run of only one win in their last nine matches –, Valley will be looking to pick up a much needed three points in their bid for promotion.
