PITCHING IN ISTHMIAN LEAGUE – SOUTH EAST DIVISION

After ending their winless streak at Hythe Town last weekend, Valley welcome an East Grinstead Town side on the back of three consecutive wins to the Artic Stadium on Saturday.
Aidan Brown’s 71st minute strike against Faversham Town last weekend lifted the Wasps above the relegation trapdoor for the first time since late October, and came on the back of narrow wins at Three Bridges (Town’s only away win to date) and at home to Chichester City.
A change of management in mid-November saw club veteran Drew Cooney and former Hythe and Chatham Town supremo Tony Beckenham assume joint control, and a change of fortune was long overdue following a 5-0 drubbing at league leaders Hastings United early in December.
This season’s previous encounter at College Lane will live long in the memory of those present as a floodlight failure shortly after East Grinstead scored an early equaliser, and late summer fog, formed the backdrop to an eight goal thriller and Valley’s only league defeat before mid-December.
Rory Hill and Hassan Ibrahiym will be available for selection for Valley after missing the win at Hythe through suspension, as will Gavin Tomlin who completed 90 minutes along with Ibrahiym in the Development side’s narrow defeat at VCD Athletic on Tuesday.
