There’s a Bank Holiday local derby in Crayford on Monday afternoon as Valley visit the home of VCD Athletic in their penultimate game of the season.

The Vickers featured among the early season contenders for promotion before a dip in form over the last eight matches has found them looking at a mid-table finish.
Lining up for our hosts is likely to be Kevin Lisbie – a familiar face in SE9 after hitting the net 60 times in his 80 appearances for Valley prior to this season.
True to form, Lisbie has struck three goals in his six VCD appearances to date, and may line up alongside other notable “exMillers”, Lea Dawson and Chris Edwards.
Leading the goal charts for The Vickers is Youssef Bamba with eighteen goals in a strike force that has found the net on at least one occasion in their last five games prior to the weekend, while conversely it’s six games since they kept a clean sheet. The fact that Valley have themselves conceded in their last nine games suggests there may well be goals in store.

As indeed there was when VCD visited The Artic Stadium on New Year’s Day.
Unanswered goals from Adesite, Ayman El-Mogharbel and a Bamba penalty inflicted Valley’s heaviest home defeat of the season.
