Following shutouts against relegation threatened East Grinstead Town and Phoenix Sports, Valley welcome lowly Sevenoaks Town to the Artic Stadium on Tuesday evening for what will be the first meeting of the clubs this season.
The visitors arrived in Eltham early in January only to find the match postponed following a late morning deluge, so they will be hoping the weather is a bit kinder to us all this time.
With just five points to show for their last five home matches, Valley have been struggling to break down opposition arriving on a “damage limitation” exercise, but face an Oaks side beaten in their last five away games and currently in the midst of a relegation struggle.
Recent wins at Greatness Park against fellow strugglers Hythe Town and Phoenix Sports have enabled Oaks to keep their heads one point above the drop zone, but defeat at East Grinstead on Saturday leaves manager Micky Collins with much work still to do to preserve the Club’s Isthmian League status achieved in 2018.
Collins’ son Louis leads the goal charts for the visitors this season with 13 strikes in 29 appearances since rejoining the Club from Dover Athletic in August, while former “Miller” Kweku Ansah may also feature.
