EMIRATES FA CUP PRELIMINARY ROUND REPLAY - 22 AUG 2023 - ATT 163
CRAY VALLEY (PM) 4 LORDSWOOD 1
Goals: CV - Lisbie 34, Parker 49, Ademiluyi 59,68

The Millers finally saw off the challenge of an energetic young Lordswood side, running out 4-1 winners to progress in this seasons FA Cup where they will now travel to face in the next round the winners of Uxbridge and Corinthian Casuals whose own replay is Wednesday evening.

After the kick off was delayed 15 minutes awaiting the arrival of one of the assistants, the game started brightly with chances at both ends but it was the Millers who were on top when the lively Kyrell Lisbie opened the scoring in the 34th minute. A lovely goal from Lisbie, attacking with pace on the left flank, holding off the attention of the defender before cutting inside and firing low past the keeper.

The Lords equalised somewhat against the run of play right on half time, Clement Asiedu committing the foul and James Jeffrey scoring the resulting penalty.

Within four minutes of the re-start the Millers were back in front. Lyle De-Vere’s free kick out wide on the right to the far post was headed back goalwards by Lisbie against the post and the rebound went straight to Freddie Parker whose low shot from central just inside the penalty area, through a crowd of players, found the back of the net.

Michael Ademiluyi who had replaced an injured Denzel Gayle in the first half then scored two goals in ten minutes to secure the victory and allow the Millers to play out the game for the final twenty minutes or so. Both similar goals, Ademiluyi utilising his pace out wide on the right and striking his shot with power to beat the keeper, courtesy of a slight deflection each time. In the closing minutes Ademiluyi nearly completed his hat trick but this time his shot hit the bottom of the post.

A entertaining game ended 4-1 and a deserved victory for the Millers.
