Our opponents:
Hartley Wintney FC
With a population hovering around 5,000, Hartley Wintney is classified as a village, though a sizeable one these days, located close to Basingstoke in North Hampshire, central southern England. The Club was founded in 1897, were founder members of the Home Counties League, and following successive promotions from the Combined Counties League Premier Division in 2016/17 and Southern League South East in 2017/18, the First Team competed at step 3 of the English football pyramid, in the Southern League Premier Division South, until relegation in 2022/23. 'Hartley' now compete in the Isthmian League South Central division at step 4. The club's nickname is 'The Row' coming from Hartley Row, a former hamlet of Hartley Wintney.
This season they have won two and lost two of the opening league games. In their last match they beat Ashford Town (Middx) 1-0 on Tuesday evening. In the first round qualifying of the FA Trophy they won 1-0 at Corinthian Casuals to set up today's meeting.
The Millers
The Millers will be looking to reach the third round qualifying of the competition for only the second time in this the fifth season that they have been eligible to enter. Last season they lost on penalties at Carshalton Athletic where ironically they have been drawn against in the FA Cup. Steve McKimm with the exception of long term injury Lyle Della Verde should have full squad from which to pick from. As always it promises to be compelling. Hope to see you there!
