Welcome to the new management team

Cray Valley (PM) Football Club are pleased to announce the appointment of our new First Team Manager, STEVE McKIMM.

Steve will be joined at the Artic Stadium by BARRY MOORE as his Assistant.

Steve and Barry bring with them a wealth of experience, having been together at the helm of Tonbridge Angels for eight years between 2014 and 2022, and more recently, last season at Carshalton Athletic.

Steve was appointed manager at the Longmead Stadium in May 2014 from Sutton United where, for the previous two years, he had gained valuable experience as Head Coach under Paul Doswell. (Millers supporters may well remember that Doswell was manager of Havant & Waterlooville when we met them in the Emirates FA Cup First Round Proper in 2020).

As a central midfielder, Steve represented with distinction Malden Vale, Hendon, Molesey, Dulwich Hamlet, Farnborough Town, Hayes, Kingstonian, Gravesend & Northfleet and Margate, before joining Sutton United in May 2008.

Barry, prior to being appointed Steve’s assistant in 2014, was first team coach at both Bromley and Merstham. A midfielder he played at National League level with Woking and Hayes, the latter for which he was a teammate of McKimm.

The managerial duo of McKimm and Moore guided the Angels to an Isthmian League Premier Division play-off semi-final spot in 2015/16 before promotion to the National League South was secured via three Isthmian Premier play-offs in 2018/19.

They also oversaw successful cup runs, reaching the FA Cup Fourth Qualifying Round in 2016/17 and the First Round Proper in 2020/21 for the first time since 1973. The following season, 2021/22, they also reached the FA Trophy Fifth Round for the first time in the club’s history, before losing on penalties to Bromley.

Following a 16th place finish in the Vanarama National League South that season, the Angels decided to part company with the duo. They were quickly back in the hot seat however, taking charge at Pitching In Isthmian Premier side Carshalton Athletic for what turned out to be just one season, finishing 11th, a one place improvement on the previous season.

With the new season approaching fast and the first pre-season friendly scheduled in just five weeks’ time, Steve & Barry will be looking to move swiftly to settle in and start the season on the front foot.

Joining them on the coaching team will be MARK WATSON a former striker who played for AFC Bournemouth, Sutton United, Woking and Aldershot Town among others in the late 1990's early 2000.

We hope you will join us in wishing the incoming trio the very best of luck.

Steve, Barry & Mark – a warm welcome to the Artic Stadium!
