Cray Valley Ladies reached the final of the Kent Women's Plate after beating Sevenoaks Town 1-0 at Greatness Park this afternoon with Eve Sales scoring the winner in the 79th minute. Katie Jackson raced down the left flank and after cutting inside saw her shot from inside the area parried by the Town keeper, however Sales was in the right place at the right time and took full advantage firing home the rebound past a covering defender on the line.
An excellent game summed up by a tweet from yesterday's match referee Ste Daley who was ably assisted by Mike Coward and Michael Corderoy.
Tweet: "Was an honour to referee the @KentFA Women’s plate cup semi final today between @STFCWomen and @CrayLadies A very competitive game of football that either team could have won, both teams should be proud of their performances, good luck to CV in the final and commiserations to ST"
The final will take place on Thursday 26th May at the Gallagher Stadium, Maidstone kick off 19.00pm. Cray's opponents will be either Beckenham Town or Herne Bay Reserves whose semi final takes place next Sunday 1st May.
