A sensational second half come back saw Cray Ladies recover from 3-0 down at half time to earn a point as their first game at tier 6 in the London and South East Regional Division One South ended 3-3.
Cray got off to the worst possible start conceding with only one minute on the clock and Steyning had doubled their lead within the opening ten minutes. Three down at the interval Dean Jarman the Cray manager and his team clearly had much to contemplate as they set about planning for the second half. Whatever was said did the trick, as summed up by assistant coach Claire Willicombe who said at the conclusion of the match when assessing the two halves "honestly it was night and day, the second half effort and energy was absolutely immense.”
During that second half Annemarie Blanche pulled a goal back on the hour, before Danielle Smith scored twice to level things up with 15 minutes or so remaining. An excellent game of football, welcome back Sunday Football!
