The young Millers moved to within one point of U18 Isthmian Youth East Division leaders Sutton Common Rovers with a game in hand with this victory over local rivals Glebe at Foxbury Avenue on a wet evening.
A lively start saw a couple of half chances come and go for the visitors, Will Abiola heading over from a corner the most notable. The deadlock was broken in the 26th minute when Cray took the lead, Alex Jones won the ball in midfield before sending a slide rule pass through to Arinze Chukwujekwu to sprint past his markers and guide the ball past the advancing keeper from the edge of the area.
Four minutes later the lead was doubled, a good passing move from Cray opened up the home defence as Chukwujekwu put Victor Damyonov through to finish with aplomb. The home side applied pressure at the interval approached and squandered a chance to pull one back but at the break it remained 2-0 to Cray.
On 54 minutes Cray cleared a Glebe attack, Jonathan Lawson chased the clearance down the right and crossed low for Chukwujekwu to clip the ball home from the six yard line for their third and his second of the night.
As in the first half the home side posed problems at the end but it ends in a comfortable win for Cray against a hard working and never say die Glebe team. Cray's little bit of extra quality sees them going home with the three points as if finishes 3-0.
