Under 14's - Cray Wanderers 1-1 Cray Valley (Cray Valley won 5-4 on pens)

Under 16's - Cray Valley 4-0 Tonbridge Juniors
Under 18's - Cray Valley 6-2 Orpington
All of the action involving our Kent Youth League teams this weekend was around the 1st round of the League cup. Three out of the four of our participating sides progressed to the next round, with the only defeat being our Under 15's, who narrowly lost 2-1 away at Tonbridge Angels. Fin Skinner scored our goal and was unlucky not to take the game to penalties when his last minute effort went agonisingly the wrong side of the upright.
There were comfortable wins for our 18's and 16's. Matt Jeffrey's 18's beat last season's county cup winners, Orpington 6-2. Cruising 4 goals up at the interval, we had a player sent off early in the second but still managed to extend our lead to 6! A second dismissal for two yellows left us with 9 versus 11 and as a consequence, we conceded two late goals. Leo Lichev bagged a hat trick, Rhys Evans 2 and TJ Dros.
The 16's eased past Tonbridge Juniors from the Central Division 4-0 with Seb Matthews, Juan Taylor, Filip Valis were all on target. The fourth was an own goal. Mario's 14's bounced back from their heavy defeat against Lewisham last week with a nail biting 5-4 penalties victory away at our local rivals Cray Wanderers after the match finished 1-1. Nipun Tamang scored our goal from an assist by Abdoul Zeba.
Last but not least Kien Knight scored the only goal of the game as our 13's won a close fought encounter against Dulwich Village in a Lleague North Division match.
The JPL season is also under way with the teams playing a round robin competition before the League starts. Our U16 Greenwich Peninsular Prem team won 10-0 with goals from Lewis Morgan (3), Filip Valis(3), Sohan Wilkhu, Kingsley Opara, Divine Onyekachi and an own goal. This was their second win having also won 4-1 last week. Our Championship U16 Boys went down 3-6 at home to Bromley. Our girls started their season with a 1-1 draw with Chatham. The Chats took the lead but we fought back to gain a deserved draw and could have won the match but the visitors keeper pulled off a number of fine saves to deny us a victory.
With the commencement of the Selkent league now deferred until 27th September, a few of our sides continued their preparation with friendlies. The Under 13's (Black) drew for the second consecutive week but should have beaten opposition Total FC. With the scores level 2-2, with goals with goals from Leo Austen and George Doherty- Forte, we were awarded a late penalty but failed to convert it. Our U9's (U10X) beat Cray Wanderers Cobras 3-0 with goals from Jacob Wright (2) and Kayden San.
