SEASON FIRSTS FROM Gavin Tomlin and Kweku Ansah, and a powerful Ashley Sains header weren't enough to prevent The Millers exit from the London Senior Cup in this high scoring second round tie.
Having progressed from the first round following Greenwich Borough's withdrawal from the competition, Kevin Watson's side found their League One opponents a much more difficult proposition at a rain swept Badgers.
A youthful Dons side, featuring midfielder Jack Rudoni who spent much of last season fighting relegation in the Isthmian League Premier Division with Corinthian!-Casuals, took the lead in the 19th minute - Rudoni heading home from a corner.
The second half burst into life on the hour when substitute Francis Babalola was brought down in the Dons area - Tomlin confidently dispatching the resultant penalty.
There then followed a 2 goal burst from the visitors as Kyron Stabana restored their lead 2 minutes later - firing home from the edge of the area - before Tommy Wood gave them some breathing space in the 65th minute.
Not to be outdone, Ansah reduced the arrears on 70 minutes, cooly finishing off a fine run into the Dons' area.
Still the Dons pushed forward, securing the spoils with the defining moment of the match - substitute Finlay Macnab's 81st minute corner evading all before nestling in the back of the Millers' net.
Showing admirable resilience, the home side again reduced the arrears with 7 minutes left - Sains' fierce header giving Dons' keeper Matthew Cox no chance.
Try as they might, The Millers were unable to take the game to a penalty shootout as the young Dons, - fielding three 16 year-olds and a further seven under 18's on the night - moved on to a quarter final meeting with Brentford.
