Sittingbourne 3 - 2 The Millers
An experimental side fall to a narrow defeat in the Millers final Velocity Trophy Group 9 fixture.
Report from Richard J Green
TWO goals from Brickies striker Sid Sollis saw The Millers depart their inaugural Velocity Trophy venture without a win in their 4 group games.
Fielding a much changed side from Saturday's hard fought victory over Three Bridges, Kevin Wilson's charges found themselves 2 goals down in the first half hour, before Ryan Flack cut the arrears with a well struck 30th minute penalty following a handball in the Sittingbourne area.
Tall target man Sollis extended The Brickies lead with his second headed finish in the 56th minute following a fine run and cross from former Millers wideman Enoch Adjei.
Not to be beaten without a fight, Emiliano Hysi converted an 81st minute penalty following a foul on the dangerous Kweku Ansah, but despite late pressure on the home goal, The Millers were unable to force a penalty shoot out.
Overall a good workout for the Cray Valley squad with valuable game time for several of the Club's youngsters
