The game ended goalless on the 3G at Whitehall Lane. Valley enjoyed the greater possession and chances overall although can thank keeper Max Ovenden for the clean sheet after his excellent penalty save just prior to the break.

The opening half hour saw plenty of encouraging signs in the build up for Valley but the final ball and finish was lacking. Adam Coombes forced the South Park keeper into a good save from a well struck free kick. The resulting corner kick found the head of Cem Tumkaya but his effort was just wide of the post. At the other end a South Park shot wizzed past the post. As half time approached South Park were awarded a penalty following a handball from a corner. Ovenden diving low to his left pushed the ball away to keep the score goalless.

Second half saw the Millers utilising their squad with eight changes after the interval. A competitive game saw Valley continue to create chances with Clem Asiedu and Michael Ademiluyi a constant threat on the flanks. Matty Vigor, Lyle Della-Verde, Freddie Parker and Marcel Barrington all had opportunities but that elusive goal was not to be. More minutes in the legs and Steve McKimm remained upbeat in his post match interview as pre-season continues.
