A Cray Valley (PM) side featuring a mix of first team and youth produced an impressive performance and goals from James Stewart, Lewis Allan and Amani Bowlin saw them progress past SE Dons in the London Senior Cup. They will now travel to Welling Unitd in the second round on a date to be decided.

The opening period saw chances at both ends with former Millers keeper Sam Freeman called into action as both James Stewart and Denzel Gayle saw efforts saved. Dons also went close and had the ball in the net only for an assistants flag for offside denying them. The hosts opened the scoring in the 27th minute Gayle getting to the touchline and his pull back to the near post was fired low past the keeper by Stewart for his first of the season.

Three minutes later the scores were level after a corner wasn't properly cleared Aaaron Watson's low drive from just inside the box took a big deflection and nestled into the bottom left corner. Shortly after the Millers were back in front, Gayle again the provider on the right, this time his whipped cross finding Lewis Allan at the back post to side foot home from close in. Enoch Muwonge nearly increased the lead further just before the interval his shot going just wide of the far post.

Second half continued in the same vein as the first with both sides pushing forward and looking to create chances. The vital third goal for the Millers came with just three minutes of normal time remaining - good work on the left from Muwonge, his pass inside to Alfie Morgan was crossed first time into the area, a diving header by Freddie Parker was saved by Freeman in goal but Amani Bowlin was on hand to fire home the rebound at the far post.

An entertaining and well contested game, the Millers now return to league action with home games on Saturday and next Tuesday to look forward to. The Dons meanwhile have an FA Vase game on Friday evening at Sutton Common Rovers plus the little matter of a chance to reach the Emirates FA Cup First Round Proper on the 17th October with a trip to Sholing.
