It’s an early kick off at The Artic Stadium on Saturday as Valley look to continue their ascent on the league summit.
After last week’s impressive 3-1 win at Sheppey United, Tommy Osborne’s men take on another of the sides promoted from the SCEFL last season, as the Chats return to the Isthmian League after a five year absence following relegation in 2017.
Manager Kevin Hake only took on the role ten days prior to the start of last season when Scott Lindsey moved on to a coaching role at Swindon Town, but he led the Club to promotion on the back of 32 wins in 38 league games with 122 goals, although a total of 100 points proved insufficient to secure the title.
And despite an opening day defeat at East Grinstead Town, Chats only other league defeat this term came in their last away game – losing by the odd goal in five at Three Bridges.
Currently placed second in the table – four points ahead of Valley – much of Chatham’s success this season has come on the artificial surface at their Bauvill Stadium, where they enjoy a 100% record after eight games, while taking the points in only one of their six trips on the road.
Valley for their part, come into the game on the back of an eight game unbeaten run – seeing them rise from 14th in the table to a place among the mid-season play-off places.
