BIG MATCH PREVIEW
THREE BRIDGES v CRAY VALLEY (PM)
SAT 11th FEB 2023 KICK OFF 3PM
PITCHING IN ISTHMIAN LEAGUE – SOUTH EAST DIVISION

Denzel Gayle in action Sept 2021, the last meeting between the sides at Jubilee Walk
The Millers go into Saturdays game having lost their last three games, Littlehampton Town A, Chichester City H and Sevenoaks Town H all by one goal to nil. With the goals having dried up, and the previous unbeaten run now seemingly in the long distance past, manager Tommy Osborne and assistant Paul Lorraine will be looking for a change of fortune and a return to winning ways. Hassan Ibrahiym is likely to be available again although Tom Chambers starts the first of his three match suspension following his recent red card.
Under manager Jamie Crellin now in his second season, Three Bridges currently sit 15th in the league table with 27 points from 21 games. Their league home form has been their strength this season, beaten only twice at Jubilee Walk with eight victories and a draw in their eleven games to date. On the road has been more challenging where they are yet to record a win, drawing twice and losing eight times.
The Bridges come into the game with just one defeat in their last six games at home to Hythe Town 3-1. There have been notable home victories against Whitehawk 3-2 and Ramsgate 2-0 and away draw at Chatham Town 2-2 and VCD Athletic. Top goalscorer in all games is Donvieve Jones with eight and The Bridges will feel he is due a goal having not been on the scoresheet since the end of October. Mario Quiassaca is second on four.
THE BRIDGES RECENT HISTORY
After sixty years competing in the Sussex County League, Three Bridges joined the Isthmian ranks in 2012 after being promoted as Champions and have retained their position despite relegation in 2016/17 – winning promotion as runners-up in the Southern Combination League the following season.
IT’S A FACT
Three Bridges, at first a tiny hamlet, began to grow with the coming of the London and Brighton Railway in 1841. Despite beliefs to the contrary, the village was named, not after rail bridges, but after three much older crossings over streams in the area (River Mole tributaries).
