BIG MATCH PREVIEW

SITTINGBOURNE v CRAY VALLEY (PM)
4th MAR 2023 – KICK OFF 3pm
PITCHING IN ISTHMIAN LEAGUE – SOUTH EAST DIVISION

Action between the two sides in their last meeting at the Jarmans Solicitors stadium

The Millers travel to The Jarman Solicitors Stadium to take on Sittingbourne in the second of three successive away games buoyed by Tuesday evenings 3-0 win at East Grinstead Town. The victory lifts them to seventh place with 46 points off 28 games, just one point below Ashford United and Sevenoaks Town in 5th and 6th place respectively. Manager Tommy Osborne has a couple of injury concerns and may look to bolster his options in the coming week or so before the 23rd March deadline.

Sittingbourne nicknamed the Brickies currently sit in 17th place with 30 points from 28 games. They are just four points below Three Bridges in 12th place so will be looking to continue their recent good run of form to move up the table. Following their 3-1 victory against the Millers at the Artic Stadium back in October the Brickies then went 14 games before registering their next win in January. Ryan Maxwell, former Braintree Town manager, replaced Nick Davis at the helm and they have only been beaten twice in their last nine games, winning their last two home games against Haywards Heath Town 5-0 and East Grinstead Town 2-0. Last Saturday they gained a credible point at second place Chatham Town. Top goalscorer for the Brickies is Donvieve Jones on 9 and their line up includes ex Miller Matthew Attenborough Warren.

Since the appointment of Maxwell a number of new signings have joined the club including centre half Joe Ellul , who was a National league South title winner- and supporters player of the year- at Maidstone United last year. In addition midfielder Simon Mbonkwi joined from Eastbourne Borough and winger Aaron Eyoma, a former Arsenal academy and U23 Derby County player, from Concord Rangers. Defender Tom Hanfrey moved from Sheppey and Striker Chaynie Burgin from Haringey Borough.
