Match Preview:
After what has been an incredibly busy week off the field with preparations for the Emirates FA Cup replay against Charlton Athletic next Wednesday taking shape we now return, ahead of that game, to league action.
On the field manager Steve McKimm will be keen to ensure everyone remains focused, talking to Kent Sports News earlier in the week he was quoted as saying “I have level-headed players and we never run away with ourselves – if we go and take Erith lightly and worry about the replay, certain players will not be with me, it is as simple as that.”
“But I have not got players with that mentality – these players want to be successful this year and I know that every game they play they will give everything as they have done every game this season and nothing will change on Saturday ahead of Wednesday.”
Todays Visitors:
Erith & Belvedere nicknamed The Deres gained promotion last season as champions of the SCEFL Premier Division. They currently sit in 17th place with 8 points from their opening 10 games. After beating Hythe Town 1-0 at the end of September they have lost four their last six league gams gaining 0-0 draws against Phoenix Sports and Herne Bay. Manager Matt Longhurst appointed in March earlier this year has recently brought in former Millers striker Marcel Barrington who is well versed at scoring goals at the Artic Stadium and will be keen to show what he is capable of on Saturday. Top scorer this season experienced Chris Dickson recently departed the club but another face familiar to Millers fans is central defender and Deres captain Finn O'Mara who had a short loan period with the club from Hastings United last season.
