Match Preview:

Lancing nicknamed "The Lancers" are now in their third season at step 4 in the Isthmian South East Division having been promoted from the Southern Combination Premier at the end of the covid curtailed season 2020/21. They finished 18th in their first season and 13th last season. They have made an excellent start to this season under new manager David Altendorff. They play at the home of the Sussex FA which boasts an excellent 3G surface and despite the recent cold weather should ensure the game goes ahead.

So just eleven days after the two sides met at the Artic Stadium and shared the spoils in a 1-1 draw they meet again in the return fixture at Culver Road. Lancing's good run continues having won at Erith & Belvedere 3-0 on Saturday and at home to Hythe Town 2-1 on Tuesday. They have won ten of their last 13 league games with just the one defeat against Sheppey United and two draws including against the Millers. They sit in third place on 41 points from 21 games.

The Millers are one place above with the same number of points 41 but from just 17 games. They remain unbeaten in those 17 games. They beat Sheppey United 3-1 on Saturday but their midweek game at Burgess Hill Town was postponed due to a frosty pitch. Manager Steve McKimm will have the benefit of a number of players recently returned from injury with Lyle Della-Verde, Hassan Ibrahim and Adam Coombes all getting valuable minutes in their last outing.

With second place playing third and two in form sides it promises to be compelling. Hope to see you there!
