Nickname: The Chats

2021/22 SCEFL 2nd - promoted
The Chats currently sit in 9th place on 62 points from 40 games. An indifferent start to this season left them with a lot to do to make the play offs for the second successive year having finished runners-up last season. On Saturday they drew 3-3 at Hendon which followed a 1-0 home defeat the previous week to Chichester City. Prior to that they had enjoyed a nine game unbeaten run in the league including 7 wins. The also reached the final of the Isthmian League Velocity Cup narrowly losing to Billericay Town 3-2 whose late winner came in the 92nd minute. They are well supported at home averaging 1,266 this season. Top goalscorer is former West Ham United, Colchester United and Ipswich Town forward Freddie Sears, now 35 years of age, with 23 goals. Jack Evans and John Ufuah are both on 9 goals.
The Millers
With Dover Athletic, Chichester City and the Millers competing for the 4th and 5th play off spots it promises to be an exciting finish to the season. All three clubs have two to play and Dover visit Chichester on the final Saturday of the league season. The Millers know that a victory against Chatham will guarantee them a play off spot. A draw on its own won't be enough but it would still leave their fate in their own hands with Folkestone Invicta visiting the Artic Stadium next Saturday.
Steve McKimm will no doubt look to utilise his squad for their second game over Easter, having beaten Whitehawk 3-0 on Good Friday, as they look to get that victory. Chatham will of course be keen to finish their final home game of the season with a victory of their own. It promises to be compelling, hope to see you there!
Player Watch: If he plays this afternoon it will be Tom Chambers 100th appearance for Cray Valley (PM).
