Match Preview:
Following last week's Emirates FA Cup First Round Qualifying matches it's a return to league action with Hashtag United the visitors to the Artic Stadium. They lost 3-0 to their ground landlords Aveley on Friday evening so ending their cup run but will be keen to get back to winning ways in the league. An opening day win at Lewes 2-0 was followed by a goalless draw at home to Potters Bar Town. Since then they have been beaten at home to Chichester City 2-1, Billericay Town 3-2 and in between away at Cheshunt 3-1. They currently sit in 17th place on four points from their opening five games. Top goalscorer is Bradley Sach who has hit the back of the net for three of their five league goals so far this season.

It’s not often you come across a club that has only had one manager in their entire history, but Jay Devereux is the only man to ever lead Hashtag United. Appointed in 2018 when The Tags entered the NLS at step 6, Jay has led the club to 3 promotions in that time.

Last season the Tags won 5-1 here at the Artic Stadium at the start of the year but were beaten 3-1 by Valley in the return game at Aveley FC in April 2025. More details of those two games can be found below.

Steve McKimm and his Valley side appear to have turned the corner since the opening three defeats in the league, winning both the Bank Holiday fixtures, 4-1 at home to Ramsgate and 3-0 away at Welling United. This was followed by progress in the Emirates FA Cup with victory at Ramsgate 2-1 on Saturday. They currently sit in 13th place on six points from the opening five league games. The goals have been spread around with Tom Beere leading the way on 3 followed by Dan Ajakaiye, Ibby Akanbi, Marcel Barrington and Matty Vigor all on 2.
