A last minute goal from full back Ben Mason denied relegation threatened Cray Valley a valuable win in a pulsating game at the Artic Stadium. With the home side looking like holding on to their slender lead, Mason popped up unmarked in the six yard box to smash home a thunderous strike past keeper Prince Adegoke a following a deft back heel from Jake Hutchinson.

Having already secured the league title, the Seasiders shuffled their starting line up around but still had enough class and experience on the pitch to earn a point despite a spirited display from the hosts.

The sides were evenly matched in the first half and neither team looked like breaking the deadlock. The best chance fell to Rowan Liburd but his fierce shot was turned around the upright by Invicta's stopper Ted Collins.

After the break Joel Odeniran headed narrowly wide for the visitors before the Millers finally broke the deadlock. A corner from Fumnaya Shomotun in the 63rd minute was headed home by Colchester loanee Alfie Newby for the defenders second goal in consecutive matches. Unfortunately, a single goal lead was always going to be difficult to hold onto and the visitors should have levelled the scores earlier. Hutchinson shot wide when clean through in the 76th minute and moments later Ryan Kingsford failed to connect to a cross when he looked nailed on to score.

Kevin Lisbie was proud of his teams effort as they more than matched the league champions with a battling performance. The Millers fate will now be decided on the last day of the season where they have to win at Dartford and fellow strugglers Carshalton need to avoid defeat at home to St Albans City.
