The clinical finishing of 4 goal Jammers hitman Charlee Hughes gave this game a slightly inflated scoreline at The Wallace Binder Ground.
The Millers more than matched their hosts for many periods of this game played in persistent rain - earning many plaudits from their hosts.
After a fairly even opening, the first chance fell the way of Hughes as he flicked William Cracknell's low cross just wide of the upright.
The Millers took the lead on 8 minutes - becoming the first team to score the opening goal against The Jammers in 15 games this season - as central defender Ashley Sains rose highest to head home following a free kick.
Hughes levelled for The Jammers 6 minutes later after Cem Tumkaya was harshly penalised for a tackle wide on the right. Laste Dombaxe's low free kick found the young striker in the 6 yard box to jab home at the near post.
Shortly after this, a Dombaxe corner was headed on by Hughes for Jorome Slew to try a cheeky back heel that was well saved by Millers' keeper Andy Walker.
Cray Valley PM were looking dangerous on the break, with an Anthony Edgar free kick and Francis Babalola shot from a narrow angle testing home keeper Ben McNamara.
Hughes scored his, and Maldon & Tiptree's 2nd, on the half hour as Slew played in Danny Parish whose low 25 yard drive was spilled by Walker into path of the grateful striker.
Some fine passing and interplay by The Millers generally floundered when appproaching the hosts penalty area, although Jack Sammoutis did have one 20 yard drive well saved by the keeper.
Hughes however completed his hat-trick shortly before the interval, when Parish and Cracknell combined well down the right before the former's cross was clinically converted.
Kevin Lisbie made a welcome return to Millers colours at half time, replacing Josh James in a bid to add more fire power.
The second half however started with the hosts going close as Slew's great run finished with a cross that Hughes slid just wide of the far post.
The Millers then had a spell in the ascendency as Denzel Gayle tested McNamara after turning well on the edge of the area.
Jammers however struck back with Parish's strong 15 yard shot being well saved by Walker and Slew firing narrowly wide.
But it was The Millers who fired the next blow on 64 minutes as Sammoutis broke through a couple of challenges on the edge of the area before playing Babalola in to round McNamara before firing home.
With The Millers sensing a chance to get back into the game, the home side pushed forward - Dombaxe's 20 yard shot being pushed away one handed by Walker - before Hughes made it 4 two minutes later, showing fine anticipation to get to Stephane Ngamvoulou's fine cross before keeper Walker.
Still refusing to lie down, Babalola had a shot deflected for a corner before Maldon and Tiptree sealed the tie on 84 minutes as Sammoutis over played on the edge of the area allowing Dombaxe and Tyrique Hyde to combine for Slew to fire a first time effort across goal and into the far corner.
So The Jammers made it 15 consecutive competitive wins at the start of the season, but much credit must go to Kevin Watson's Millers for making them fight all the way.
