SUNDAY 23rd APRIL 2023 ATT 102
WELLING UNITED WOMEN 4 CRAY VALLEY (PM) LADIES 0
Goals WU - Laverick 2, 11 White 6, Symonds 8
A nightmare start for Cray Valley Ladies saw them concede four goals in the opening eleven minutes against Welling Women at Park View Road this afternoon. Thereafter Valley showed a great deal of character as they gradually got to grips with the game. Whilst not posing much threat going forward, they worked hard and to their credit no further goals were conceded in the remaining 79 minutes. Lacking a regular keeper today the duty was shared and credit to Claire Goldsmith who made a terrific second half save to keep the score at 4-0 which it remained at the final whistle. The win consolidated the Wings third place in the table.
Just two games now remain away at championship challengers Ashford United next Sunday an early 12 noon kick off on the 3G at the Homelands Stadium. The season is then completed at home on the 7th May with Bexhill United the visitors to Oxford Road.
