Congratulations to 17 year old Jonathan Lawson who after a successful trial with Watford FC over the summer has been rewarded with a one year contract with an additional one year option.

Jonathan was one of the stand out performers last season in Cray Valley's U18 Isthmian East title winning side scoring 28 goals in 23 league and cup games. He capped a fine season by scoring twice in the Champion of Champions Trophy Final in which Cray Valley beat the South champions Worthing 4-0 played at Bedfont Sports.

Graham Knight the Cray Valley Isthmian U18 manager said “Jonathan has worked so hard on his game, after a number of professional club trials over the past couple of seasons he has finally got the chance he deserves. Jonathan has so much potential and I know he will maximise his opportunity with Watford. He has a fantastic attitude and it has been a pleasure to get to know Jonathan as a person and play a small part in his development. Good luck Jonathan and we all look forward to seeing you fly”
